Hiking in the wilderness can be like time travel. Just off the beaten path, the brush and undergrowth gets so thick, it’s hard to imagine the hardiness and bravery of pioneers who blazed paths across the wild frontier. Lucky for us, they left trails where bushwhacking is not necessary, which frees us up to enjoy nature in her bountiful glory. Just stay on the trail, cover up for ticks, and pack out what you take in.
