Annual Spring celebration featuring handmade crafts, parade, lots of “Folk, Mountain, and Bluegrass” music, and dancing on the Courthouse Square. A great family fun festival. It’s hard to keep a secret in small town Arkansas and in 1964 word that the Beatles were landing at the airport in Walnut Ridge moved faster than an email. Teens flocked to the airport to get a glimpse of the Fab Four as they landed for a weekend stopover at a dude ranch in Missouri.
It’s celebrated with a music festival that draws thousands of visitors to the region to celebrate with food, fun and music, including the Liverpool Legends, a Beatles Cover band.
Time to visit since Admission is free, parking is free and the fun is priceless.
Summer’s End Kid’s Free Fishing Day at Montauk State Park (aug 11)
Fishing tags are free for children ages 15 and younger on this day only to fish in Montauk State Park. Kids must wear a children’s free fishing tag that can be picked up at the lodge on Friday evening after 7 p.m. or anytime on Saturday. The tags are required for kids fishing on this day. Kids can fish anywhere inside the park; no designated fishing area will be set aside. Adults must have daily trout tag to assist children fishing.

The event offers a poker run, bike show, biker games, car show, two free concerts, sideshow performers, merchandise vendors, and a biker church service in the natural setting of the city park amphitheater. Parking around the historic town square is restricted to motorcycles only during Saturday’s activities. It has grown from the town square to encompass many side streets and other business parking lots. The event brings in visitors that are exposed to the unique culture of this area. Mountains, Music, and Motorcycles focuses on the fact that Mountain View and the region is a motorcycle destination for motorcycle enthusiasts from around the nation.
