The Arkansas River Trail is a masterpiece of urban trail making that runs seven miles along one side of the Arkansas River and seven miles back on the North Little Rock side. Start at the Clinton Library for a trip through Riverfront Park, a hop through an industrial section of the city, then cross over into Rebsamen Park to walk, ride or run beside a golf course, parks all the way to the Big Dam Bridge. You can continue to Two Rivers Park for more scenery or slip over the bridge to the other side and return through Burns Park, Emerald Park and dramatic views of the city on one side and quarry cliffs on the other. The trail finishes up with a final trek across the bridge at Clinton Library after passing the ballfield at Dickey Stephens and Riverside Park on the north side of the river. Bring a bike, or rent one, or just plan a vista filled nature hike on a paved trail.
